Hi Mon,
Date: January 27, 2010
Hi Mon,
Thanks a million for documenting the fiesta celebration. Talo mo
pa si Lafayette ba yun? Detailed na detailed ang kuwento at para bang
may aksyon pa!
Well, for next year, sisiguraduhin natin na babalik silang lahat
at may kasama pang iba. With regards to the demographics, we thought
we have lesser older folks in attendance kasi mas marami na yung half
centuries lang na katulad natin but in reality, tayo na ang naging old
ones although ang feeling natin ay bata pa tayo, kaya marami rin ang
matatanda na, hindi mo lang pinansin hehehe. But actually, nagulat din
ako dahil napakaming mga teen-agers and young adults in their 20' &
30's who participated in all the activities.
The girls,
led by Meya Sulapat collected a total of $1,130.00 from those who paid
at the door. The $20.00 gift prize awarded to Tina Balaguer was given
back to me as additional donation, making the final total of $1,150
collected during the fiesta. The total expenses of $1,224.24 included
the following:
- 50 lbs Lechon Cebu - 240.00
- Photographer services - 200.00
- (Sam's Club) Party supplies - 197.18
- Balloons & decorations - 88.00
- (Smart&Final) water, sodas, ice - 98.00
- (Walmart) Frames - 26.17
- (99c store) 3 doz. serving spoons - 38.93
- Target - Raffle Prizes - 47.64
- Cash prizes - $20 x 6 - 120.00
- Donations - Fr. Henry - 100.00
- Postage for 132 Invites - 56.32
- additional 8 sodas - 12.00
Total Expenses - $ 1,224.24
Total Collections - $ 1,150.00
Difference - Ayos lang!
I hope everyone is satisfied and we'll see you again next year or should I say, this summer!
Thank you all for your support and participation.
St. Ildefonso, pray for us!

At para walang bias at loaded-dice sa dami ng kamag-anak, the dish
will be judged "blind". Number lang at ang name ng nagluto will only
be revealed in the awarding.

Hi all,
How about the following suggestions for each individual contribution:
$ 15 - Adult
$ 5 - Teen-ager 13 to19 years old
Free- Child 12 years old and below
Free- Child 12 years old and below
If your potluck dish is the one you are entering in the contest,
we suggest you pack your Tanay Food Fest entries in a separate
container from your Potluck dish- we would like to secure your entries
in a different area other than the buffet tables where we will serve
our potluck dish for general consumption.
Tanay Food Fest Committee will lay down ground rules and contest
specifications. Initially, criteria will be based on 25% originality/
authenticity, 25% creativity, 25%taste/aroma and 25% presentation.
There will be One First Prize Winner and One Runner-up for each seven (7) freestyle categories:
a) Pork
b) Beef
c) Chicken
d) Seafood
e) Vegetables
f) Carbohydrates i.e, specialty rice, noodles, pasta, bread, etc.
g) Desserts
We hope to give away big prizes so everyone is encouraged to
participate and register as much entries as you want. Declaring
winners will be based on 50% combined judges' final scores and the
other 50% from all Tanayans in attendance. Score sheets completed by
members will be gathered and evaluated at the close of the food-tasting
contest and will be added to the judges' total scores. Entries
garnering the highest points will be declared the winners in each 7
categories.
I will post a Log Sheet where entries can be registered and I will keep it open for everybody until the final countdown.
Stand-by for more details and info.

Hi everyone,
Do you think a $15 contribution per person is sufficient to
cover expenses to celebrate the Tanay fiesta which includes, but are
not limited to, the cost of renting a hall, music and dj services,
decorations, party supplies i.e., plates, forks, spoons, cups, napkins,
rolls of paper towels, aluminum pans. sterno heat flames, water,
ice,and drinks?
If not, what is the most appropriate amount to be contributed
based on the above? By the way, cost of tropies and/or cash prizes for
winners in the Food Fest Contest will also be added to the total
expenses.
I will appreciate an early response so I can confirm the venue.
Again, your support and cooperation is very much needed to
make the 2010 Tanay Fiesta in LA as successful if not better than the
previous years.
